Operating Petty Cash
Petty cash controls small daily expenses with a clear ceiling and assigned custodian.
Create the fund
Set the fund name, detail account, custodian, and maximum amount.
- The fund must be active to accept movements.
- The balance is derived from posted activity on the fund account.
Replenishment and payment
Record replenishments to increase the balance and small-expense payments to reduce it.
- A replenishment cannot raise the balance above the maximum.
- A payment is rejected when it exceeds the available balance.
Review and correction
Review movements and their creator; deleting a movement reverses its financial effect.
- Each movement records its creator for audit.
- Movements can create their linked accounting entries.
