Performing Bank Reconciliation
Reconciliation proves that the bank statement agrees with the books after every difference is explained.
Start the reconciliation
Choose the account, period, and balances, then import bank statement movements.
- Only one reconciliation may be in progress per bank account.
- A statement is rejected when opening balance and movement do not reconcile to closing balance.
Match and resolve differences
Begin with automatic matching, then review ambiguous items and match manually or create missing activity.
- Automatic matching requires an exact amount, suitable date window, and one unique candidate.
- Active rules suggest an account from the movement description.
Complete and approve
When all lines are matched, complete the reconciliation, approve it, and issue its summary.
- A reconciliation cannot complete with unmatched lines.
- A completed or approved reconciliation cannot be deleted.
