Automating Entries with Templates and Recurrence
Templates turn repetitive transactions into one setup that can run on a schedule.
Build the template
Add entry accounts, amounts, descriptions, and cost centers to an active template.
- A template contains at least two lines.
- Debit and credit amounts must balance.
Set the schedule
Choose frequency, start date, optional end date, and maximum executions.
- The next execution date begins at the start date.
- Scheduling stops at the end date or execution limit.
Execution and tracking
Each due date creates an entry from the saved template snapshot and updates execution tracking.
- Later template changes do not alter existing schedules.
- Backfill creates a separate entry for every missed cycle.
