Recording Stock Issues
A stock issue records goods leaving a warehouse while the system determines their cost and checks availability at approval.
Create the issue
Choose the warehouse, date, and optional party, then add at least one item and quantity. No cost entry is required at creation.
- Issues can be classified as sale, consumption, damage, adjustment, or other.
- The system totals quantities from the lines.
Availability and costing
At approval, the system checks each item's stock. Approval stops when quantity is insufficient unless the warehouse allows negative stock.
- Unit cost is set automatically under the active valuation method.
- The document's total cost is calculated at approval.
States
A draft is editable and deletable and does not change stock. Approval reduces quantity and makes the document read-only; cancellation restores issued stock.
- A draft cannot be cancelled, and a non-draft cannot be approved.
- Every approval and reversal creates an auditable movement record.
Monitoring
Review issues by status, warehouse, party, reference type, and period, then trace their impact in the stock card.
- The stock card shows quantity out, cost, and the balance after movement.
