Counting and Reconciling Stock
A count captures physical quantity, compares it with system stock, and turns variances into a reviewable adjustment.
Perform the count
Choose the warehouse and enter each item's counted quantity. The draft remains editable or deletable until finalization.
- Each line holds system quantity, counted quantity, variance, and unit cost.
Finalize the count
At finalization, the system refreshes current balances, calculates counted-versus-system variance, and finalizes the count.
- A draft adjustment is created only when non-zero variances exist.
- Only a draft count can be finalized.
Manual adjustments
An independent adjustment can increase or decrease quantity for count variances, damage, expiry, corrections, or another reason.
- Each line specifies adjustment direction, quantity, and unit cost.
- The system totals increases and decreases in quantity and value.
Approval and cancellation
Approving an adjustment changes stock according to increase and decrease lines. Cancelling a draft has no effect, while cancelling an approved adjustment reverses all changes.
- Count and adjustment numbers are generated automatically.
- Movements remain in the company's audit trail.
